Nancy LITTEN - Regional Organiser for Kent

Nancy has been Organiser (and was founder) of EPTA's Kent region since 2010, running many events (concerts, master-classes, discussions, speakers, piano circle etc) with the help of a committee.  She was also a member of EPTA UK's Management Committee for nine years from 2009 to 2018.

Nancy won an Arts Council award to study with Julius Isserlis in London at thirteen, and an open piano scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music at sixteen, winning prizes during her studies there. She has performed as a pianist in solo, orchestral and chamber music, and as a piano accompanist, being well known in Kent. She is an all-round musician, also having been a freelance orchestral violinist and leader of a string quartet. Tutoring has formed a large part of her life, from beginners through to diploma level; she has taught privately and in many different types of school and on courses and masterclasses. She is an ABRSM examiner, and an adjudicator for the British and International Federation of Festivals (serving on the adjudicators’ council).

Alfred Music UK has published a range of Nancy's books: ‘Keyed Up’ tutors for electronic keyboard, ‘Playing with Colour’ tutors for violin (co-authored with Sharon Goodey), ‘Choral and Vocal Warm-ups for pianists’, ‘Choral and Vocal Sight Singing with keyboard harmony,’ and ‘Rounds with Accompaniment’. Her original keyboard pieces and piano arrangements can be found in Trinity and ABRSM grade books and other books such as Piano Mix and Piano Star. Her latest publications are arrangements of well-known piano pieces for trio (piano, violin and cello) in two books, 'Classical Vienna', and 'Romantic Vienna'.
